Jessica Powell is a visionary leader with decades of experience in marketing, sales, and M&A analysis. She has a proven track record of transforming business visions into reality through operations and revenue analysis, strong relationships, and exceptional project management. Jessica’s career spans various industries and roles, and she is now applying that entrepreneurial experience to Blue Venture’s M&A clients as our Director of M&A Business Assessment. Also, she serves as head of Investor Relations for our Fundraising Business Line. An entrepreneur in her own right, she is the owner of Social Balances, a rapidly growing marketing and PR firm, Jessica helps businesses articulate their business model, identify revenue opportunities, and market to the right audiences. She is applying her business analysis skills and ever-expanding ancillary services network to the needs of Blue Venture’s clients. Previously, Jessica was the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Full Scale Software Development and the Executive Producer of the widely popular Startup Hustle podcast, which introduces a global audience to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and highlights the real world of starting and exiting a business through the M&A process. In 2015, she co-founded Chicago’s FUND Conference., Jessica connected entrepreneurs, VCs, angel investors, investment bankers, and industry experts, driving forward the Midwest entrepreneurial landscape. At Venture Connects, as Partner & Chief Operating Officer, she supported emerging growth companies and accredited investors through the VCVetted® program, providing impactful resources and qualified deal flow. She also organizes large events for Back2KC and New2KC, programs dedicated to driving regional development. She holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Kansas. Jessica is married to Michael, and together they have two children, Caleb (12) and Mason (10). She works in our Kansas City, MO headquarters.
