A retired Naval Aviator that leads our Chicago office, Jon brings strong problem-solving skills and a proven record of delivering high impact results in dynamic, fast-paced environments. In his role at Blue Venture Advisors, Jon is committed to listening, understanding, and delivering for our Defense and Federal clients. He activates his global business and defense network to solve tough problems through innovative solutions.
During his time in uniform Jon led teams ranging from 200+ member departments to 10 member cross functional teams finding success through his ability to provide clear direction for development and growth of both individuals and organizations, a focus on maximizing customer success, and keen ability to integrate advanced / future technology into operations and strategy.
Specifically, he has held safety, training, operations, and maintenance positions across multiple Naval Aviation squadrons, coordinated Indo-Pacific operations at the strategic level on the Joint Chiefs of Staff β to include multiple briefings in βthe tank,β and managed the theater requirements, rapid capability resourcing, and support for the 4-star commander during program budget review while in acting as a key executive in the INDOPACOM J8.
Jon holds a BS in Systems Engineering (with distinction) from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MA in National Security and Strategic Studies (with distinction) from the U.S. Naval War College, and an MPA from the University of Illinois at Springfield. He is a Defense Acquisition University trained Level C Requirements Manager, certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and an FAA pilot with ATP, CFI, CFII, and MEI ratings. He resides in the Chicago area with his family.
